Frequently Asked Questions
No. We welcome all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to join our community. The Yugambeh Youth Choir takes a particular focus on the songs and knowledges of the Yugambeh Language Region, where we most often work and perform. However, our members come from all over Australia, and we value the knowledges and stories they bring along with them.
Nothing! It’s all about inclusivity for us, which means no financial barriers to entry. The Yugambeh Youth Choir has no joining fee, and our uniforms are provided free-of-charge.
The Yugambeh Youth Choir rehearses once a week, always outside of school hours. During rehearsals, you can expect to learn cultural language and stories, and possibly get to try a cultural instrument. We’ll learn and rehearse some songs together, and we are often preparing for an upcoming performance. If you show up a little early, you’ll have extra time to socialise with our tight-knit community, too. If you are interested in joining the choir and would like more information about the rehearsal schedule, please express your interest through the ‘Join’ form above.
The Yugambeh Youth Choir would love to engage with your upcoming project or event. Please click the 'Engage' button above and fill out the online form to start an enquiry with us.
We are currently working on obtaining DGR status so that the Yugambeh Youth Aboriginal Corporation can accept donations.
